As a first-class national museum, Zhejiang Museum of Natural History (ZMNH) is one of the oldest museums founded solely by the Chinese. West Lake Museum of Zhejiang Province, its predecessor, was born out of West Lake Exposition in 1929. Its history of over 90 years has witnessed several changes in its different locations and names，which is divided into Hangzhou Branch and Anji Branch.. In August 2018, it was renamed to Zhejiang Museum of Natural History, and its Anji Branch was open to the public on December 28 the same year.

　　With a total area of 87,000 m2, As a modern natural museum embracing collection, research, science popularization, education, cultural exchange, leisure experience, ZMNH owns a collection of over 300,000 specimens, including the dragon eggs of maximum quantity and kinds in the world.

　　ZMNH was granted “Top Ten Exhibition Excellence Awards in China” four times and was given the title of “Most Innovative National Museum”. In August 2020, ZMNH was honored with “Third-Class Collective Merit” by Zhejiang Provincial Government. It has won? over 10 awards including the first Chinese “Top Ten Brands of Popular Science and Study”. Besides, Anji Branch has won “Luban Award”(the highest award for Chinese architecture) and the title of National 4A-level scenic spot, which was also selected among the most beautiful public cultural spaces in Zhejiang Province.

　　浙江自然博物院是国家一级博物馆，是中国人自己创办的历史最悠久的博物馆之一。前身是1929年西湖博览会基础上创办的浙江省西湖博物馆。建馆90余年，三迁其址，五易其名，下设有杭州馆和安吉馆。2018年8月更名为浙江自然博物院，同年12月28日安吉馆建成对外开放。

　　浙江自然博物院馆舍总面积8.7万平方米，是一座集收藏研究、科普教育、文化交流、休闲体验于一体的现代自然博物馆，拥有藏品30万余件，其中恐龙蛋收藏的数量、种类世界第一。

　　浙江自然博物院4次荣获“全国十大陈列展览精品奖”，获评“全国最具创新力博物馆”称号。2020年8月浙江省政府给予浙江自然博物院记“集体三等功”。荣获首届中国“科普研学十佳品牌”等10余项奖项。安吉馆建筑荣获“鲁班奖”，创建为国家4A级景区，入选2023年度浙江省最美公共文化空间。
